I'm in the late stages of getting another batch of work ready to send down to Canberra for perusal by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet of the Australian Federal government. The various works get selected to go off as diplomatic and parliamentary gifts for services provided, achievements acknowledged and for presentation to dignitaries, both Australian and International.
I consider it a great honour to have been chosen to provide work in this capacity as it's an endorsement to the quality of my work and also to the commitment and attention to detail to which I adhere.
The works I'm able to send down can include any or most of my work line-up … but, to date, I have mostly provided small bowl forms both in wood and resin.
The current group of works consist of four small bowls and two medium-sized bowl forms in Queensland Maple. They are all made from a single small slab of salvaged maple which is warmly coloured and a little figured. The shapes are minimally simple but with a few funky twists.
