A couple years ago, my friend Pam asked me to make a bowl in Purple Heart for her. I just got it finished. The piece of wood had several knots and imperfections, so I had to make some decisions early about the final outcome of the form. I opted for a very simple shape that had nice fluid lines and presented concentric growth rings.
Purple Heart finishes to a beautiful pink/purple colour. There is no other wood on the planet that compares to it. As is common, this particular piece of wood had a subtle figuring through it also.

Finally, have a look at the range of fine utensils and homewares that I create at FOREST TREASURES.
