Recently, I was cutting up an Acacia Cedar board into salad servers and other functional utensils for sale locally. I had a bit left over that was too small for any of my utensil range, and since it was kiln dried, I decided to turn it into a small bowl form straight away.

The bowl is only a bit over an inch thick, but still embodies the organic flowing shape that I really like at the moment. It's quite a challenge to create good shape into a piece so thin ... and, it always give me satisfaction when the plan works.

I meant this piece to be a display form, but the finish is a hybrid display functional one (food safe), so the bowl can be used for serving if desired.
